Traceroute is a love-hate tool. It’s a point in time tool and provides incomplete and hard to digest multi-dimensional results.

Configure your pathlens transmitter to monitor paths from a remote location to specific destinations. The pathlens transmitter repeatedly checks that path to your configured destinations and sends the results to the pathlens receiver.

The pathlens receiver analyses the results and enumerates the Company Name, Latitude, Longitude, AS Number and Country Code for each hop giving you a much more comprehensive view of the path to the destination.

Results can be ingested by your monitoring platform by visiting a path specific URL to obtain the raw JSON results. 

The raw JSON however is still multi-dimensional and can be difficult to digest into a traditional monitoring platform so we’ve added a notification method. Pathlens can calculate a baseline for each path and send a Microsoft Teams notification should a hop-count or latency threshold be breached.
